smoke gets in your eyeballs (tight lining)

I decided to break out of my shell and give tight lining a go yesterday, and to debut it out and about today. I don’t usually do something so smokey since I wear dark frames, but I think it looked fine.

For this look I played with Naked 3 palette, some matte shades by tarte and Sonia Kashuk, and black liner to tightline by NYX. I threw a thin liquid liner by Physician’s Formula to bring the smoked out shadow together. My mascaras were Urban Decay Perversion on the top and Clinique bottom lash on the bottom.

For the rest of the face, I’m wearing Revlon Colorstay Whipped, NARS laguna bronzer, and Milani Luminoso blush. Also brows: Dipbrow by Anastasia Beverly Hills. And my lips are Rimmel east end snob with some Buxom White Russian over the top.

I had fun with today’s look. Something different for me when I’ve been in a slump lately. I’ll definitely be tightlining more often, it’s a great effect!

Tomorrow I’ll probably be fresh faced all day because there’s supposed to be a little blizzard overnight. I hope I get to spend the day with my lover and pets watching Green Acres (current obsession– just realized it’s on Hulu and I LOVED it as a kid).

Stay warm! Veg out in your warm houses and look out your windows at the bitter cold! Try daring new lipsticks inside! 🙂 Take care.

New Favorite Nail Polish

This has been sitting on top of my makeup organizer for a month or two, untouched. Tonight was the night for Revlon’s famous Cherries in the Snow nail polish. Now I want the matching lipstick! (like I need another red…)

Ignore the sloppiness, I have a tremor. But…

I just love it. There’s such depth to the color with blue/purple undertones. It went on opaque in one coat, but I painted two just to see it the color changed any. It seemed to get deeper with a second coat. Paired with my new Formula X topcoat it is ultra shiny. I usually wear nude or dark nails, but this will be my new stand-by for sure!

Rose Gold Eyes and Bold Brows after Sunday Spa-day

After a perfumed bath featuring Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka, I used two face masks: an AHA peel by Alba and a scar-lightening mask by Garnier. Then I decided to play with makeup for a rose gold look, a tiny winged eyeliner, and a nude lip with my naturally bold brows (and the help of a pencil).

Daytime look/GRWM for the next long while

If you saw my last post, you know I’m using up 10 fabulous products via slathering them on my face every day. I chose 10 of my favorites, and here is a little get-ready-with-me using them all.

First, I cleanse, moisturize, and prime the skin. Today, I also did a face mask.

Cetaphil, Garnier dark spot mask, CVS knock-off of Cerave daytime moisturizer with SPF, and primers: Cover FX with salicylic acid, Maybelline Baby Skin, and Garnier 5sec Blur. As always, some Burt’s Bees to top it off.

after all that, my face is ready to go.

Can’t stand that little thing on my chin! Oh well, let’s cover it up.

Project Pan for a Daytime Look

Hello lovelies! As a makeup addict, I’ve decided to halt all makeup buying (gasp!!) until I’ve used up 10 makeup products. To accomplish this, I’ll be limiting my daytime look to these 10 products. I’ve chosen products that I know perform very well and that I love. I can use any products from my collection for any nighttime/special occasion look.

The products:

I love all these products dearly. The Clinique foundation and concealer provides excellent coverage while helping to clear any breakouts. NARS orgasm/laguna is perfect for brightening up my fair skin (I did have a hard time settling on a blush to use for possibly months, though!). I have been using my glow pearls for a few months and haven’t seen any dent, but I’ll happily use this product until it’s all gone and buy another! It provides a very subtle glow to my cheekbones, nose, forehead, and chin. I went for a fairly bold every day eye look with black liquid liner and mascara, but the formula is so smooth and I really need practice with this type of liner. Supposedly it also acts as an eyelash serum, so I’ll report back on that when it dries up! And the Sonia Kashuk palette is a great neutral shimmer palette. I plan on using up three of the shades. As for my lips, I went for a MLBB shade — fig jam by Revlon. It is moisturizing enough for the daytime, a shade darker than my lips, and it makes me look more awake and put together. If I don’t repurchase it when it’s gone, I’ll go for its cousin: Clinique black honey.

Coming soon — the daytime look featuring these products.

xoxo,

Martha
