I used up tons of things — mostly meds — in January! But a few skincare and makeup fun things made it in my box of trash as well.
Look, a pharmacy!
I used up loads of Latuda. It does me good. And some trazodone for sleeping, doxycycline for acne (it works!), venlafaxine for being a sad sack of shit, and topamax for I don’t even know. A mood stabilizer or something.
And my gummy vitamins because I’m a responsible adult. Multivitamin because I never eat, probiotics because they’re good for everything, and fiber because I never eat. Seriously. Working on it. I have repurchased variations on all of these, plus B12, CoQ10, and D per my Dr’s recommendation.
I had 6 of these and I used them all. They actually worked. I found them on sale, and I’d buy them again if they were on sale again.
My everyday mascara is all gone. I am fairly blessed in the lash department, but this made them blacker and a tad longer and thicker. I don’t like looking like I’m wearing falsies during the day, so this mascara was perfect for me. Those va-va-voom mascaras make me look like I’m trying wayyyy too hard. It never irritated my sensitive eyes and it always removed completely with my beloved Cetaphil cleanser. I’ll repurchase this after I use up some other dusty mascaras.
This one did me the most good, as I am depressed recently and rarely take a shower. One application lasts like, 3 days. If you knew me IRL you’d be thankful that I found such a trusty sidekick. I like that it doesn’t have a scent, because I’m a perfume geek. I already repurchased it.
And that’s my trash, ladies (I really don’t think any gentlemen save my lover read this) (hello lover). Hopefully more makeup will make it onto my face and then into the trash by March.
By the way, the mascara was in my Project 10 Pan. Hooray!
I decided to rep my boys this morning. They are amazing in many ways, and they also helped me cover up a truly awful hair day this morning. When you have a pixie cut, you really have to get it cut every ~month. It’s been about 2 weeks over and I hate it!
But my makeup looks nice today. And I hit pan on an eyeshadow for the first time in my life!
face: Yes to Grapefruits CC Cream in fair, Rimmel stay matte powder, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, WnW Fergie highlighter in rose champagne glow, NARS laguna bronzer
brows: NYX brow pencil in dark brown, Sonia Kashuk brow gel
eyes: Sonia Kashuk eye primer, Sonia Kashuk eye on neutral shimmer palette, L’Oreal infallible eyeliner in brown, Physician’s Formula Organic Wear mascara in black
Along with my project pan (10 cosmetics) and project tube (going through my stash of BB creams), why not throw in a perfume? My collection is a little, well… let’s just say I have at least 100 perfumes. Time to focus on using one up at a time! For day-to-day wear, I’ve chosen a lovely warm winter scent.
Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka. Loads of licorice, praline, vanilla, and star anise. Smells like Angel all grown up. I find that I can be generous with this without offending. A spray on both wrists, one or two on my neck, and maybe one on my scarf to snuggle in all day. Its lasting power is impressive, but by the evening I’ll be able to wear something else if I want to.
I’ll also work on finishing up the matching perfumed shower gel and body lotion. They are quite lovely, as well.
Any perfume freaks out there? Would you wear Lolita Lempicka daily for ~2 months?
To finish up three shades from my Sonia Kashuk eye on neutral shimmer palette, I am using them in my Project 10 Pan everyday makeup look. I also plan on finishing my Physician’s formula organic wear mascara and eye booster liquid liner. Here is the look:
The look is very warm and suitable for the daytime. I’m using the copper shade on the lid, the brown-gold on the crease and on the lower lash line, and the palest shade to highlight the brow bone.
And now I’ll review this lovely liner and mascara:
Eye BOOSTER 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum: It goes on extremely well via a very fine brush tip applicator. No skipping or chipping here. It in no way irritates the eyes upon application or removal. It stays put through everything I’ve put it through, including light tears and long naps. I haven’t noticed any serum benefits yet, but I’ve only been using it for about a week. When I go to remove it, it comes off completely with my normal cleansing routine. No makeup remover necessary, which is remarkable given its staying power. My only complaint: it just isn’t black enough, even in the shade “Ultra Black.” It isn’t grey or green or anything, it just isn’t a true onyx black like I want. But the rest is great!
Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara: Should be called jumbo wand mascara! The thing is huge! I can manage, but I prefer a more traditional wand. I chose this for a daytime everyday look because really, there’s nothing too intense about it. And sometimes, liquid liner is all the intensity one needs. It makes the lashes black, makes them a little longer and considerably thicker and more noticeable, but not too dramatic. My favorite thing about this mascara is that it removes completely when I wash my face without taking any lashes with it. A little cetaphil and this stuff is gone!
I’m on the fence as to whether or not I’ll repurchase these later on. We all know I have lots of shopping from my own stash to do after I finish these two!
Here’s my full FOTD, using all of my Project 10 Pan products.
How did this happen?! How did I give into the BB and CC cream craze and why oh why do I want Estée Lauder’s EE cream?!
Now that I’m doing Project Pan, I might as well add in a Project Tube. I’ll wear one until it’s done around the house, when I walk the dog, whenever I don’t feel like doing a full face of makeup. I’ll start with Yes to Grapefruits CC Cream.
It has SPF 18 and promises to even and brighten skin with evodia fruit. Never heard of it… but I’ll put it on my face. 🙂
And then set with Rimmel Stay Matte powder:
Review: My skin drank it up very nicely. It is the only moisturizer I used. No extra creams or serums. The coverage is decent but leaves much to be desired. It covered most scarring and redness on my forehead and cheeks, but still let my freckles show through. It attempted to cover thing-on-my-chin. It really needs to be set with powder, as the SPF makes it a bit too shiny for my taste. I’ll happily use it until it’s gone, but I won’t do much other than walk the dog and do household chores in it. And then it’s on to the next zombie from the BB cream graveyard…
If you saw my last post, you know I’m using up 10 fabulous products via slathering them on my face every day. I chose 10 of my favorites, and here is a little get-ready-with-me using them all.
First, I cleanse, moisturize, and prime the skin. Today, I also did a face mask.
Cetaphil, Garnier dark spot mask, CVS knock-off of Cerave daytime moisturizer with SPF, and primers: Cover FX with salicylic acid, Maybelline Baby Skin, and Garnier 5sec Blur. As always, some Burt’s Bees to top it off.
after all that, my face is ready to go.
Can’t stand that little thing on my chin! Oh well, let’s cover it up.
And after my daytime eye look, along with bronzer, blush, and highlight, and my Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in fig jam:
There we are! My daytime look until I’ve made room for a few more products… 🙂
Hello lovelies! As a makeup addict, I’ve decided to halt all makeup buying (gasp!!) until I’ve used up 10 makeup products. To accomplish this, I’ll be limiting my daytime look to these 10 products. I’ve chosen products that I know perform very well and that I love. I can use any products from my collection for any nighttime/special occasion look.
foundation – Clinique acne solutions
concealer – Clinique acne solutions sample
powder: Rimmel stay matte
blush/bronzer: NARS laguna and orgasm
highlighter: Physician’s Formula mineral glow pearls
eyeshadow: Sonia Kashuk eye on neutral shimmer palette
eyeliner/mascara: Physician’s Formula Eye BOOSTER liner and Organic Wear mascara, both in black
Revlon colorburst lip butter in fig jam
I love all these products dearly. The Clinique foundation and concealer provides excellent coverage while helping to clear any breakouts. NARS orgasm/laguna is perfect for brightening up my fair skin (I did have a hard time settling on a blush to use for possibly months, though!). I have been using my glow pearls for a few months and haven’t seen any dent, but I’ll happily use this product until it’s all gone and buy another! It provides a very subtle glow to my cheekbones, nose, forehead, and chin. I went for a fairly bold every day eye look with black liquid liner and mascara, but the formula is so smooth and I really need practice with this type of liner. Supposedly it also acts as an eyelash serum, so I’ll report back on that when it dries up! And the Sonia Kashuk palette is a great neutral shimmer palette. I plan on using up three of the shades. As for my lips, I went for a MLBB shade — fig jam by Revlon. It is moisturizing enough for the daytime, a shade darker than my lips, and it makes me look more awake and put together. If I don’t repurchase it when it’s gone, I’ll go for its cousin: Clinique black honey.
Coming soon — the daytime look featuring these products.
